About me
My name is Jenna Barnes, I am 22 years old. I was born in Mobile, Al on April 9, 1990. My major interest are softball, and coaching. I played college softball for Faulker State Community college in 2008, Bishop State Community College in 2009, and Sprinhill in 2010. After my third year I decided to do something different and join the military. The United States Coast Guard was now my main focus in life. I was stationed in Miami, Fl working as a non rate at a maintenance facility unit. The first 6 months was great, then medical issues started coming up. After a few months in the doctors office the military decided that I was un fit for duty, so I got an honorable discharge. That is when I came home and decided to go back to school. Thats how I ended up at USA.
I entered the field of education because I have always had a passion to coach and I love kids and I have a drive to help them. I worked at a daycare for four years and at that time I wanted to be a elementary teacher. After much thought and after coaching my first girls softball team I realized I could be much more helpful to older kids than younger, so I changed my major to secondary education. My passion is now to become a biology teacher in 10th grade as well as a high school softball coach. I really feel that thats where I'm supposed to be in life and i will not stop until my goal is accomplished.
Randy Pausch on Time Management
What I learned from Randy Pausch is that time management is very essential to everyday needs. I learned that making to do lists keep you on track and helps out when you're on a time schedule or trying to not procrastinate. I like how he broke things down to explain not to ask the questions "why" all the time. He was very helpful.I do not know anything else about Dr. Pausch, but I would love to listen more and learn more things.
Hello Jenna, I was also in the military over 35 years ago and had to get out because of a medical issue. When I look back, I believe that having a problem to overcome made me work harder and become more internally motivated. I am better because of it. Did you know that Randy Pausch died of cancer about 5 years ago but left a lot of books and information. Also, on the blog list, I am listed as Deborah Murphy. Ann
